Half-Ass Badassery

OK so maybe not. Cleaned the living room and dining room and quit. If you’ve ever seen Victoria’s desk up close you’d have the same reaction after attempting to clean it. Oh, don’t get me wrong. It’s clean now. I’ve also given up the will to continue cleaning other areas of the apartment. Perhaps when I have time this week I’ll clean the bedroom. Next weekend I’ll vacuum and dust and in between find the time to dye my hair blue again.

You know after talking to friends and family, posting on twitter, hosting a podcast about my life and now blogging, there’s just no keeping secrets anymore. Combine that with my flickr site and the only thing I haven’t shared with y’all is the stuff you really don’t care about. Stuff like grooming, showering, bodily functions and those very rare and fleeting boring moments when I’m just sitting here wondering what to do. I don’t know whether to be alarmed or not yet.

Well, dinner of crustinis, turkey lettuce wraps and vege sushi (avocado, cream cheese and sweet potato) I’m about ready to quit. I want to clean the room but I just don’t have the energy. Somebody motivate me. I’m tired of doing it myself.

Spring Cleaning Today

T-minus 2 weeks and counting. Today is “Spring Cleaning” day. For the first time in a long time we’re even cleaning our bedroom. Usually it’s the living room, dining room, kitchen and bath. The bedroom every now and then might get a pickup or something but we don’t spend a ton of time there other than sleeping so it doesn’t really get messy. Well, now is the time. So yeah. Quite a fun-filled day here at the W-B residence.

I’m starting the day tired. I have two CDs to write reviews for, lyrics that need posting, hotels that need calling (for another upcoming event) and at some point I need to rest.

C’mon people!

I’m seeing anywhere from 5-10 views on all my recent concert photos. Plenty of views on my old ones too. Yet, none of you have anything to say about them? Good? Bad? Ideas? Thoughts on new captions? NOTHING? C’mon people, go comment on my photos. I need to know where I suck, what I do well and what you think about what you see. Stop being lurkers. Get involved. LOL

Podcasts and Spreadsheets and Twitter, OH MY!

A lot has been going on lately. So let me get right to it.

First, there’s the podcast. UNCAST.net is in full swing. I have purchased a new Audio-Technica AT2020 microphone and a Nady MPF-6 pop filter. They should be here in time for the next episode.

Our laptop crapped out on us (power button isn’t working) so instead of recording in the quiet of the living room, we had to rely on my computer desk which has two towers running on it. That creates a lot of background noise which irritated me throughout the whole recording. I just never felt comfortable.

Work has gone well. Last week our boss came to us requesting that we increase the goal we had already set for the month. A goal, mind you, that I was convinced we wouldn’t reach. Basically that came down to me miscalculating the number of days we still had left. Come yesterday’s deadline and we beat his increased goal and then some. I was pretty excited. Our prize for this? No not a raise. No not a bonus. No not a day off. A couple CostCo pizzas. WOW. We are a bunch of monkeys.

I’ve found twitter recently but I haven’t mentioned it here at all. Basically it’s a bunch of mini-blogs. Works great when you don’t have the time to spend posting a long blog about your day or your latest rant, rave, or obsession. Instead just answer a question: What are you doing right now? Of course, lots of people just answer each other. The one thing it misses that really sucks is a search feature. You can’t search for people. You just look up people’s friends (mine for example), look at their friends, their friends friends, etc. and add people you know, have heard of or care to hear about what they’re day is like. Most all of my friends are podcast related. Either podcasters or podcast listeners. Go check it out anyways. If you ever miss me and wonder what my latest thoughts or actions are, you’ll read it there.
